This week, Estonia’s parliament took another step towards the creation of its innovative digital nomad visa. The proposed visa will allow digital nomads to visit Estonia, work, and remain in the country for up to a year.
Previously, digital nomads have needed to visit Estonia with a tourist visa, but this allows them much less time in the Baltic nation. It also hampers their ability to work freely, and describe their trip as being for business.
The visa still needs to go through a number of parliamentary processes before being approved, but today marked a positive step forward. And it’s reflective of Estonia’s positive outlook towards digital nomads in general and professional innovation.
They already offer people from all over the world the opportunity to run a company in Estonia through their unique e-Residency program, something digital nomads have taken full advantage of. With the help of Xolo, hundreds of digital nomads run their companies entirely remotely, just needing the help of wifi to manage their business online.
You don’t just need to take our word for it, here are a few examples of successful digital nomads who are also Xolo customers:
“The main reason is that I wanted the tasks regarding regulations and bookkeeping to be taken care of by pros, as much as possible. Taking care of paperwork and tax deadlines have never been among my biggest strengths.”
“Xolo has been great so far. The best part for us is the ability to outsource the bureaucratic parts of running a company. Not having to worry about these things means that we can concentrate 100% of our time on the things we’re good at!”
We look forward to welcoming them, along with all the world’s nomads, to Tallinn once the digital nomad visa becomes official!
